About SPRIG

Administratively, SPRIG is the SPRIG Section of INFORMS.

SPRIG was founded at the INFORMS Miami meeting, November 8, 2001. We have memberships across multiple societies. Currently, SPRIG has a presence at the annual meetings of CORS , DSI and INFORMS.

The mission of the Spreadsheet Productivity Research Interest Group is to inspire, support, promote and disseminate innovations in practice, research and teaching related to the use of spreadsheets and other end-user software for modeling and analysis. SPRIG will develop and maintain close relationships with non-academic spreadsheet leaders.

SPRIG was originally called “Spreadsheet Research Interest Group”. The word “Productivity” was added in 2002 to emphasize our focus on developing solutions, not merely researching problems.   Launch of SPRIG – Nov 2001
